This policy explains what information CarsDirectory collects and how it's used. CarsDirectory does not sell your personal information.
CarsDirectory does not require an account to search or browse listings. When you use the zip or postal code search, your query is sent to our server to return nearby business listings; we log this along with standard technical data (IP address, browser type, timestamps) for security and analytics purposes. If you contact a business through our site, submit a review, or claim a business listing, we collect the information you provide (name, email, phone number, and message or review content).
Business owners who claim a listing sign in using a one-time email link rather than a password; we store your email address and a session token to keep you signed in. If you subscribe to a premium plan, payment is processed directly by Stripe — we do not store your card details ourselves. See Stripe's privacy policy for how they handle payment data.
Reviews you submit, including the name you provide, are displayed publicly on the relevant business listing. We store a hashed (non-reversible) version of your IP address alongside submitted reviews solely to limit spam and abuse.
We use a session cookie to keep business owners signed in to their dashboard. We may also use Google AdSense to display ads. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
Business listings shown on this site are sourced from OpenStreetMap contributors and are not personal data about you. If you're a business owner and want a listing corrected or removed, see our Contact page.
You can ask us to delete personal information you've submitted (a review, a contact message, or a business owner account) by reaching out through our Contact page. We'll respond to verified requests within a reasonable time.
We retain account, review, and contact-message data for as long as needed to provide the service, and technical logs for a limited period for security purposes.
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date above.
